NOS 02 Series Battery Tray and NOS Zinc Chromate Hold-Down Kit

For sale is an original BMW battery tray, NOS with part number, in factory black primer. Part number 41 11 1 801 895. This part fits all ’02 BMW cars from 04/1967 to 07/1977. And it comes with the factory Top Clamp, with lusterous yellow zinc chromate plating. Much to my wife's chagrin, I photographed this battery box on top of our black piano, so you'll see some interesting reflections.

This part is primed and ready to paint the color of your engine bay. It does have some "shop worn" scratches in the primer, but this is not a surface meant to be seen anyway. It's a solid, original set of parts.

A funny thing happened to ’02 battery boxes in the 1970s. For some reason, BMW began welding the battery trays came welded-in from the factory rather than bolted in. This practice began about with the introduction of "Model 71" and included 1602, 1802,2002, 2002tii, and all squaretail models through the end of 02 Series production. However, when a customer's welded in battery tray needed replacing, it was this part number that was supplied as a replacement. The weld spots were simply ground down, and this bolt in version served as the official replacement.
