FS: Supercharged E92 M3 Competition - by original owner

Description
FS: Supercharged 2011 BMW E92 M3 Competition for sale by original owner. • Price dropped to $36K • VIN: WBSKG9C56BE645430 • Location: Tampa, FL 33547 • Contact: Alex 813-545-2717 I ordered my M3 in October 2010, tracked it through production in Regensburg and shipping to the US, and received it in January 2011 through Fields BMW in Orlando FL. This was my fifth BMW, previously owning an E36 318, an E46 M3 coupe, an E46 M3 convertible, and an ‘09 E90 335i that was my wife’s car and is now my son’s daily driver. I’ve had my E92 M3 for the past 13 years and while I was planning to own it for another two to three years, I received a surprise opportunity to order a Porsche 911 (a 992.1 GTS) earlier this year and it was just delivered. While I’d love to keep the M3, I don’t have room to keep everything in my garage. Because I had planned to keep my M3 for several more years I’d just thoroughly refreshed it in March before getting the surprise allocation to order my 911. I’m a meticulous and skilled mechanic with 26 years of experience working on my BMWs and I’ve personally maintained the car to the highest standards. It now has 158,700 miles, though I’ve typically kept my cars well over 200K - my weekend errand hauler is a 2000 4Runner with 301K miles that I’ve had since new and it’s also in superb shape. The M3 has been garage-kept since new and I’m a fastidious detailer so it’s also in superb cosmetic condition inside, outside, under the hood, and underneath. I’ve modified the M3 to suit my driving style and desire to keep the appearance understated and true to the classic ‘gentleman racer’ quality that BMW intended. It’s never been tracked; my modifications are for street use. Highlights of my car include: Engine: • ESS 625 Supercharger - 625hp / 410 ft-lb. As a centrifugal supercharger, power delivery builds with RPM and doesn’t stress the powertrain the way a roots-style blower would. The ESS 625 uses a Vortech V3 supercharger, air-to-water intercooler, upgraded injectors, and is tuned for my other modifications. • Radium Engineering air/oil separator. • WPC Rod Bearings & ARP Rod Bolts. I replaced these for preventative maintenance when I installed my supercharger. The original bearings showed minimal wear upon removal. • Akrapovic Evolution full titanium exhaust with high-flow catalytic converters. This exhaust is amazing, and I think it makes the M3 sound better than anything short of the old F1 cars. It rumbles nicely at idle, doesn’t drone at cruise, but absolutely screams above 5,000 RPM. • Turner Motorsports aluminum belly pan. Replaced the plastic pan to provide additional stiffness and protection. • Powder coated the magnesium valve covers, as the OEM finish was beginning to flake. • The few common failure points for the E9x M3 have all been replaced. As noted above the bearings are done, as are both throttle actuators and the starter. Exterior: • Paint protection film (PPF) since new on the hood, fenders, lights, and mirrors. Just replaced in March. • Ceramic coated since new, including wheels and brake calipers. I use Menzerna polishes and Gtechniq ceramic products: Crystal Serum Light and EXO on the paint, HALO on the PPF, C4 on the trim, and G1 on the glass. Leatherique and 303 Aerospace are my go-to products for the interior. • Ceramic window tint. New in March; upgraded from my original non-ceramic tint. • BMW ‘M’ carbon fiber spoiler, mirror covers, and kidney grills; black chrome side markers. • Arkym-style carbon fiber front splitter and rear diffuser. The splitter was replaced in March and has PPF. • Painted reflectors with PPF. • Color-adjustable LED angel eyes, set to match the color temperature of the Xenon lights. • Powder-coated (both color and clear coats) the original CSL wheels for cosmetics and ease of cleaning. • Stoptech ST60 front / ST40 rear big brakes. Fully rebuilt in March with all new marine-grade stainless steel fasteners, new seals, boots, red powder coat, clear ceramic powder coat, and decals. I use Centric PosiQuiet pads all around, though I do have a set of Hawk Blue race pads. The Hawks have much better bite, but I found they throw off heavy dust and can be noisy when cold. • Michelin Pilot Sport tires, slightly wider than stock (255/35/19 & 275/35/19 versus the original 245/35/19 & 265/35/19) for improved traction and handling. Fronts have 27k and rears have 13K miles on them. • The one item with which I’m not 100% satisfied is the roof. The gel coat on the carbon fiber was beginning to delaminate and turn yellow, so I removed this last month and replaced it with a vinyl wrap. The wrap looks good from a few feet away, but up close the underlying carbon fiber weave shows through it; without the gel coat I’ve also noticed that the thin carbon fiber sometimes rattles over rough roads. If I were to keep the car longer, I’d remove the wrap and clear-coat the carbon fiber to achieve perfection - the choice is yours. Interior • Alcantera style headliner, sun visors, pillars, and package shelf. Replaced for improved cosmetics. I’ve personally performed all work on the car other than mounting new tires. I’ve kept all maintenance fully up to date throughout the car’s life, tracked using my own Excel schedule, which I’ll of course provide to the buyer. I don’t believe in “lifetime” factory fluids so my schedule includes replacing items others may overlook like the DCT transmission fluid, power steering fluid, brake fluid, electronically adjustable struts, and suspension bushings. I have all relevant receipts and other records since I took delivery. I’ve included a photo of the window sticker. Options include: • Alpine White paint • Carbon fiber roof • Fox Red Novillo Leather (which may look rather orange in the photos, but it’s a beautiful classic red-brown) • Competition Package: o 19” wheels o Ride height lowered by 10mm (0.4 inches) o Revised tuning of the adjustable suspension (comfort, normal, and sport settings) o “M” mode for higher limits on the electronic stability and traction control • Convenience Package: o Alarm system o Keyless entry and starting o Park distance control - rear proximity sensors display distance on screen o iPod and USB adapters o Navigation with real-time traffic information. I last updated my maps with 2021 data; if newer data is desired new road info can be bought for $45 online o Voice commands • Premium Package 2 o Auto-folding mirrors o Universal garage door opener o Carbon Leather interior trim o Auto-dimming rear view mirror w/compass o Power front seats w/adjustable lumbar, thigh support, and seat width o BMW Assist • M Drive. Allows customized settings for the suspension stiffness, steering input, shift points, and stability/traction control to be engaged with a single button push on the steering wheel • Double-Clutch Transmission (DCT) • Heated Front Seats – I don’t use these often here, but they’re nice when you want them • Ambient lighting – provides a nice amber light in the footwells, door panels, and seats • Enhanced Premium Sound. The media system is excellent, and I switch regularly between using my phone apps, Sirius radio, HD radio, and the several thousand songs that I have stored on the car’s built-in drive • You’re likely familiar with the standard features of the M3, but a few things to call out: o Xenon headlights with angel eyes o Launch control o Variable redline, which increases as the car warms up o On-board display of vehicle systems and maintenance schedule o iDrive media system o It’s not listed as an option, but a feature I appreciate living here is the ability to set parked-car ventilation on a timer. If I park outside at work, I have the car fan run at 1:00 and again about 30 minutes before I get out to keep the interior cooler I look forward to finding an enthusiast who will appreciate this M3 as much as I have. Like all true M cars, it’s a handsome, comfortable, sophisticated daily driver with brutal power and handling when you want it.
