1987 BMW L6

present to you my 1987 BMW L6 “shark” coupe. This model uses the M30B34 engine, which produces 182 hp (136 kW) and 214 lb⋅ft (290 N⋅m) at 4,000 rpm. The L6 "luxury edition" version of the 635CSi was available in North America for the 1987 model year. The L6 featured leather headliner and trim and an automatic gearbox. Only 1217 were produced for the single model year run. This car was resprayed sometime around 2006 but the clear coat has started to fail. As you can see the car is mechanically sound with lots of usability and performance enhancements that really bring this car up to the specs of an equivalent 1987 M6 from a horsepower, driving and cornering perspective. There is some rust consistent with its age and the fact it spent a period of time in Indiana. There are two replacement front fenders that have been resprayed with BMW Alpine White to replace the existing rusty fenders. There are also Fiber Reinforced Plastic front and rear bumper covers since the rubber bits are no longer available from BMW, the bumper covers when installed will give the Shark a very modern look. There is some surface rust underneath but everything is very solid according to the long term mechanic. Approximately $3000 in spare parts including a BMW OEM rear spoiler from NOS stock out of a defunct dealer in California.
