V10. 6-speed manual. I think that pretty much sums it up.
Never again (probably) will there be a car like this, especially in BMW’s history. The BMW M Division really went all-out in the mid-2000s, sticking a V10 engine with Formula 1 pedigree into a big body cruiser. The E63 M6 is a svelte coupé that emits glorious induction noise from the front and F1 noise from the rear. And the final cherry on top – 3 pedals. The manual transmission was exclusively offered on North American M6s and only made it to 323/9,098 of V10 M6 Coupes ever built. The result is a driving experience unlike any other, with looks and sounds to prove it.
Where this example shines is mechanically – this M6 has had EXTENSIVE preventative maintenance completed and drives solid with no vibrations or pulls – literally needs nothing. Normal S85 things (rod bearings, throttle actuators, high pressure VANOS line, VANOS solenoids, and oil cooler) have all been addressed, as well as other items including the alternator, thrust arm bushings, water pump, thermostat, and valve cover gaskets. All maintenance was performed by a BMW dealer, and all paper service records are on hand and in Excel form. Additionally, I purchased a 3-year oil change plan through BMW, which gives the next owner until June 2027 of 10W-60 oil changes at the BMW dealer free of charge.
Though not cosmetically perfect, this M6 does not present at all as a 100K mile example – there is no paint fade anywhere, no rubber cracking, and the carbon fiber roof is in excellent condition. The previous owner painted the wheels black, swapped in black kidney grilles, and added the beautiful and elusive “contour” hood – but that’s the end of the modifications. Everything else is 100% original OEM. The hood and front bumper have been repainted.
The interior suits the overall character of the M6 - black extended merino leather (in excellent condition) and original carbon fiber accent trim throughout. The leather is supple with no rips, tears, or stains. The rear seats are almost brand new. Headliner is perfect with no signs of sagging, and the dashboard has no cracking. There is light wear on the driver and passenger front seat bolsters from entry/exit. The fabric material on the B/C pillar trims is starting to come loose.
