Red Line Synthetic Oil Corp. is now an official lubricant and sponsor of the BMW CCA Club Racing program, providing racing contingency awards at the 30-plus events in the BMW CCA Club Racing schedule nationwide. “BMW is one of our biggest markets,” says Cameron Evans, president of Red Line Oil, “and we have a tremendous dealer network that serves the racers and enthusiasts who participate in the BMW CCA Club Racing program. Our loyal BMW customers buy Red Line from installers, retailers, and mail-order dealers on a daily basis, so it will be fun for Red Line to give back and get more interaction among them all. We might even enter our E36 project car at a few of these races as well!”

Red Line will provide technical assistance from its Benicia, California, headquarters.

Evans continued, “We get calls daily from prep shops and teams looking for the exact Red Line product for their engine, transmission, and differential selections. Since we are very active in the BMW community and its dealer network, we have learned which products are suited to particular conditions or applications. It helps the racers to enjoy their participation—and lowers their cost of operation as well.”

How involved is Red Line in the BMW community? Well, consider the S54 engine that first appeared in the E46 M3. BMW specifies a 10-W60 synthetic for that engine, and for a few years, BMW dealers were the only source for this oil. Now Red Line has 10-W60—which also rather nicely lubricates M engines in the F10 M5 and the E92 M3 V8. And Red Line even provides information specific to BMW owners about lubricants for their cars: click here to view that page.

As for the contingency program, racers can contact BMW CCA Club Racing or their local chapters for requirements in regard to decals and proof-of-purchase data. “I have always been involved with prepping my own car, and one of the first things I learned is Red Line,” said Gary Davis, BMW CCA Club Racing national chairman. “I believe that many of our racers have shared the same experience.”

But racers aren’t the only drivers to benefit from Red Line expertise. Roundel’s Tech Talk guru, Mike Miller, recommends Red Line products, especially for BMW transmissions. And my own Z4 M roadster has Red Line fluids from one end to the other—because I intend to keep that car until they dig a big hole and bury me in it.—Satch Carlson
