SALIDA SUMMER DRIVE

Enjoy a relaxed drive to Salida via US-285 to go south and west. US-285 has spectacular scenery, is a smaller highway, windy, with canyons, wide vistas and elevation changes. It is 2-lanes in sections. Salida is a small town on the banks of the Arkansas river. In addition to the usual Outdoor Mountain recreation, the river adds water fun. Camping, Hiking, Biking, Fishing, Rafting, and Kayaking are popular and accessible. This is a drive on public paved roads and is limited to 10 cars.
