X Drives America with Choo Choo Bimmers' Drive to Top of the Rock

Join our friends the Choo-Choo Bimmers for the 5th stop of our SE route of X Drives America with a fun drive followed by some socializing over a delicious lunch. The group will meet at the Food City in Soddy Daisy 10161 Old Dayton Pike, Soddy Daisy, TN 37379 at 9:45 a.m. We will huddle there, sign the waiver, hand out final drive instructions, then depart at 10:00 a.m. [For any who are hungry, there is a donut shop across the street from the church, and a McDonald's at the intersection of Sequoyah Access Road and Dayton Pike across from Food City.] The parking lot of the Stuart Heights Baptist Church (located in the Food City complex to the left as you look from the road) will most likely be the best spot to start from. Unless we have an abnormally large group, there should not be any trouble hanging together on this drive. If you do get separated from the group, you can always input the destination into your GPS or phone and go directly there. The drive to Top of the Rock will traverse across Mowbray Mountain through some beautiful scenic Tennessee backroads. The driving time will be around 1:45-2:00 with our reservations at the restaurant confirmed for 12 noon EDST (11 am CDST - the restaurant is in Central Time Zone, and we will be starting out in Eastern Time Zone). With any luck, we may see some early fall colors along the route in the higher elevations. For sure the scenery will be great. This traditionally is one of our favorite drive routes.
