Maxime Martin won the Saturday 40-minute-sprint on the DTM race weekend at the Nürburgring in a BMW Team RMG M4 DTM, while Bruno Spengler of BMW Team MTEK finished on the podium in Sunday’s one-hour-plus-one-minute race.
Martin started second on the grid and took the lead on the first corner, where he made contact with Mercedes’ Pascal Wehrlein. Martin held on for the balance of the race, keeping the lead after a red flag period to clean oil off the course. Marco Wittmann, who finished seventh, and António Félix da Costa, who finished ninth, also scored points for BMW.
Bruno Spengler finished third on Sunday in a race won by Audi racer Miguel Molina. Other BMW racers finishing in the points were Tom Blomqvist in fourth, Augusto Farfus in eighth, and Martin Tomczyk in ninth.
