BMW Team RMG's Maxime Martin finished seventh on Saturday and eighth on Sunday in the DTM races at the Lausitzring at the end of May. His M4 DTM was the only BMW to finish in the points in either race on a weekend dominated by Audi.

BMW Team MTEK’s Bruno Spengler crossed the finish line tenth on Sunday, but he was demoted because of late-race contact with Audi racer Adrien Tambay. The best BMW finishers after Martin were Spengler in eleventh place on Saturday and Team Schnitzer’s Martin Tomczyk in eleventh on Sunday.

Audi's Jamie Green won both races. Audi took the top four positions on Saturday and the top five on Sunday. It was the third win for Green in four races run so far this season; he took the season opener at Hockenheim. Audi’s Mattias Ekstrom won the second race at Hockenheim.

BMW motorsport director Jens Marquardt said after Sunday's race, “As expected, that was a tough race for us today. Maxime Martin was again the only BMW driver in the points, in eighth place this time. That is obviously unsatisfactory. After the safety car phase you could see that we took two or three laps to get the tires working. We did not manage to get the maximum performance out of the tires over the entire distance. This is not at all what we saw during the initial winter tests. We will have to investigate the reasons for this. The positive I can take with me from this weekend is the fighting spirit among our teams and drivers
