Bill Auberlen and Andy Priaulx, driving the #55 BMW Team RLL Z4, finished sixth in the GT Le Mans class in the Tudor United Sports Car Championship race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, while their teammates, John Edwards and Dirk Müller, finished seventh in Z4 #56.

Both Z4s were quick, and both were in the running early in the race. But contact incidents slowed both cars, taking them out of contention for the class win. Jonathan Bomarito and Kuno Wittmer won the class, scoring the first TUSC GTLM win for Viper.

The Turner Motorsport Z4 driven by Dane Cameron and Paul Dalla Lana started from the pole, but had a rough race, spending time in a sand trap after a contact incident and finishing fifteenth in class.

BMW NA Motorsport Manager Gordon McDonnell said, “Today, sports car racing was a contact sport, and unfortunately we were involved in some of it. It affected the performance of our car and we were never really able to challenge for the win. It was a disappointing weekend overall, but we will be back at Road America and continue on.”
