1987 BMW 535is (E28)

This 1987 BMW 535is is a standout from the legendary E28 generation—one of the last true analog performance sedans. Equipped with the durable M30 inline-six, sport seats, and European styling, it offers a rewarding driving experience with timeless design. The “is” model was the bridge between BMW’s standard lineup and the legendary E28 M5. With classic European styling, sport seats, slightly lowered and stiffer suspension this BMW is a well sorted example of BMW’s finest work. I purchased the car from another enthusiast in Portland, OR. Previous to my ownership the car spent time in OR and WA. From what I gathered, the car was owned by another enthusiast before the previous owner. This is further confirmed by the BMW CCA sticker on the rear window. The car was in an accident where it hit a rock that damaged the front axle support and caused extensive damage the original engine. The insurance company considered the vehicle totaled hence the salvage title. However, the car besides the damage to the engine was in good shape. The owner I purchased the car from had a new engine installed with approximately 125k miles. I have added less than 7,500 miles during my ownership. Most major work completed during my ownership was completed at Oceanside Motorsports in Oceanside, CA. This 535is offers an amazing platform for restoration or spirited daily driving with some TLC.
