At the North American International Auto Show, Chevrolet announced the new Bolt EV Concept during their press conference. Here is what they have to say about this new concept:

"The future of the long-range, all-electric vehicle, the Bolt EV concept car takes Chevrolet design in bold new directions. With an estimated range of over 200 miles and a projected price of approximately $30,000 after federal tax incentives, the concept car represents Chevrolet’s vision for an affordable, global EV solution."

Could that bold new direction be influenced by BMW? They even rolled it out in a color similar to Solar Orange.

Taking a look at the rear of the vehicle, except for the hatch area, the rear 3/4 view looks very familiar.

The interior shares design cues with the i3 too. Take a look at the steering wheel and "instrument cluster"they even have a similar display being shown.

Even their "reinvented" wheel looks awefully similar to the wheels on the Mega World package. All the i3 wheels need are the clear plastic inserts.

And here is something that we have been hearing since the BMW i brand was introduced a couple years ago that has made its way into the Bolt EV marketing:

"Every aspect of the innovative and uncompromising design, from the body’s unique silhouette to the lightweight materials used both inside and out, is designed to push the envelope both technologically and aesthetically."

What doesn't match up between the two vehicles is the estimated 200 mile range of the Bolt. But then again, this is a concept that is reported to be a 2017 model. Maybe they are counting on better battery technology, as most compact electric vehicles are getting closer to 80–100 miles.
