The much-anticipated BMW 2 Series, in coupe and convertible form, is getting closer to its future customers, with the company planning to introduce the two models at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The announcement hasn’t been made official, but according to recent reports, the BMW 2 Series coupe and convertible could make their public debut at the German automotive event.

The new BMW 2 Series coupe, along with its convertible brother, are expected to appear initially in 220d, 218i, and 225i versions. After that, the M235i and the M235i xDrive variants will hit the market, followed by the top-of-the-line M2, which is expected to be unveiled in 2015. The M2 will have an estimated starting price of €52,700 ($69,000). Additional details on the two models are not available at the moment; they will probably be announced at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.––Paul Duchene
