BMW has introduced a special edition of the 116i called Fashionista, exclusively for the Japanese market. As the name suggests, it will be to die for (at least in terms of expense).

The model will be sold only as a five-door hatchback with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine producing 136 bhp, connected to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Limited to 370 units, each car will have a starting price of $37,500.

It will be sold with a choice of three exterior paints: White III Arupin, Crimson Red and Deep Sea Blue, with all featuring 17-inch alloys wrapped around in 205/50 R17 rubbers. The window surrounds are black, while the exhaust pipe and kidney grille are chromed.

Moving inside, we find Dakota Oyster leather-wrapped (front heated) seats, rear view camera with Park Distance Control, as well as glossy off-white finish for the trims on the lower center of the console, dashboard and door arms. The handbrake and sections of the doors also feature the aforementioned leather.––Paul Duchene
