Sordo spends the day battling with Ford’s Petter Solberg
Dani Sordo and Carlos del Barrio won a stage on their way to a second overall finish on day two of the Monte Carlo Rally, while their Mini WRC teammates Pierre Campana and Sabrina de Castelli finished the day in seventh. Citroen’s Sébastien Loeb continued to lead the rally.

Campana put in a steady performance over the course of the day, running ninth until the final stage. He moved up to seventh at the end of the day after Sébastien Ogier, who had run as high as third in his VW, crashed out, and Ford’s Ott Tanak stalled at the start of the final stage.
Campana said afterward, “Today I have learned a lot about the car in the changing conditions. It was all trouble free and I had no spins, which I am very happy about. The tire choice was right, but in the first stage there was more gravel than I expected, as in my pace notes it said frost. I am feeling better in the car after each stage, but I know we could have some tricky conditions tomorrow.”
