The long-awaited, non-BBC reboot of the old Top Gear program starring Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May will premiere on November 18, 2016, only on Amazon Prime streaming video.

This is the show for which many of us car nuts have been waiting, ever since Clarkson was unceremoniously dumped by the British Broadcasting Corporation for smacking a Top Gear producer, among other things. Top Gear built its huge following based on the personalities of its three presenters, the reviews and test drives of new cars, and the outrageous stunts and monumental road trips the hosts suffered through.

The BBC’s new Clarkson-less Top Gear was not nearly as popular. In fact, the original host, Chris Evans has already received the boot; and by boot, we do not mean the English term for trunk. That leaves us with our American “Friend” Matt LeBlanc and whoever else the BBC comes up with for its second season.

The U.S. version of Top Gear never captured the spirit or the following of the original BBC series, and it has been cancelled, at least in its current form on the History Channel.

That leaves us with The Grand Tour on Amazon Prime. The budget is bigger and presumably, the stunts will be, too. We have heard that the opening episode will involve Clarkson, Hammond, and May in three Ford Mustangs, joined by 150 cars, 2,000 fans, and jet planes.

For fans of Clarkson, Hammond, and May who don’t have the patience to wait for November 18th, here is their recent appearance on CBS’s The Late Late Show with James Cordon.

That will have to do it until the middle of November—unless The Grand Tour releases more teasers.—Scott Blazey
