Chris Harris is better-known for his videos of drifting supercars in slow-motion than he is for testing daily drivers. That's what makes his videos so great to watch. What makes him great though, is that he loves a wide variety of cars. Whether it's a Citroën 2CV, his E28 M5, or the new Porsche GT3RS, he understands that some cars were designed with a singular purpose in mind.
On his recent trip to the Nürburgring though, he took a BMW 320d to find out if you can have it all in one car.
The 320d is very similar to the 328d that we have here in the States. Unfortunately though, it doesn't get the credit it deserves—unless you're a car enthusiast. Americans still have a bad image of diesel powered cars stuck in their heads, and all of those preconceived notions are wrong. As enthusiasts, it's our job to be influencers and steer people in the correct direction. Otherwise, we might lose cars that are fantastic, the 335d is a case in point! Let's hope that BMW will continue to bring at least one diesel option to North America, because they truly do produce the best all-around cars.—Nate Risch
