BMW Motorsport customer Triple Eight Racing, has added German BMW factory ace Dirk Müller to their squad for this weekend's Total 24 Hours of Spa. The two-time American Le Mans Series champion will join Joe Osborne, Ryan Ratcliffe and Lee Mowle, in the Groundhog liveried #888 BMW Z4 GT3 at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
“I am already looking forward to supporting Triple Eight Racing at the 24 Hours of Spa,” remarked Müller. “It is a fantastic race and a great team. Unfortunately I was unable to take part last year as it clashed with a race in the USA. That makes me all the happier to be here this year.
“We used the test to try out one or two things with the set-up of the BMW Z4 GT3. The test went well and I am sure that we will be well prepared to push hard with the number 888 BMW Z4 GT3 in the Pro-Am class.”
Triple Eight’s GT Director Keith Cheetham added; “Dirk is a great fit for us. Since we first met we’ve gelled well and his pace in the Z4 is fantastic. It’s great for such an experienced driver to join us. It makes everyone raise their game, and while Joe has been super this year, it also doesn’t do him any harm to work with a factory driver, and see where he is in the food chain.”
