Members and chapters of the BMW CCA have found all manner of stickers, license plate frames, decals, and badges to proclaim their Club membership, but only a few states can claim to offer members the opportunity to place their BMW CCA affiliation in perhaps the most prominent location on their vehicle with an official, state-sanctioned license plate. And with the help of Hoosier Chapter members, Indiana could be the next state to add a BMW CCA license plate to the state's catalogue.
Kyle McGary of the Hoosier Chapter recently announced that they are moving forward in the application process to create a "special recognition BMW CCA license plate" that would be available to residents of Indiana. But in order to move to the approval stage, the chapter first needs 500 signatures on their petition. The petition's signature requirement must be met by March 1, 2015 to provide enough time for the chapter and state to finalize paperwork (due on the first of April), so the Hoosier Chapter urges members aged 18 and older to sign the petition soon.
By signing the petition, members pledge to purchase the license plate (at a cost of $40) should it become available. Despite this, residents who sign the petition are under no obligation to purchase the licnese plate when it goes on the market.
If the program is successful, the official BMW CCA Indiana license plate would be available in 2016 for registrations and renewals.
Are you an Indiana resident and BMW CCA supporter? Sign the petition and spread the word, and help get the BMW CCA license plate added to another state's specialty plate collection. You can donwload the petition form here, which you can print, sign, and mail to the Hoosier Chapter P.O. Box listed on the form.
