In Asia, Jesse Krohn and Ollie Milroy in a FIST-AAI M6 GT3 finished third in the Saturday Blancpain GT Asia race on the Sepang circuit in Malaysia. On the same weekend in Germany, António Félix da Costa and Timo Scheider, driving a BMW Team Schnitzer M6 GT3, finished tenth in the VLN race on the Nordschleife at the Nürburgring.
Krohn and Milroy finished on the podium in the Saturday Blancpain Asia race won by Mitch Gilbert and Aditya Patel in an OD Racing Team Audi R8. On Sunday, when Anthony Liu and Davide Rizzo won in a Ferrari 488 GT3, Krohn and Milroy dropped out of the race. The series runs again on May 20-21 on the Chang International Circuit in Thailand.
In Germany the tenth place finish by Félix da Costa and Scheider was the best for BMW in the second round of the VLN series. Fred Makowiecki and Richard Lietz won the race in a Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R. Rudi Adams and Thomas Jäger, who had won the M235i Racing Cup class in the series’ first round, scored another win in round two. The VLN series runs again at the Nürburgring on June 24. Before then, the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring will be run on May 27 and 28.—Brian S. Morgan
