BMW News

A while ago we brought you photos of a fleet of new BMW M3s on the set of the Mission: Impossible 5 film on location. Now we have newer pictures that demonstrate why the film production needed so many M3s.

A trailer was spotted leaving the location carrying a number of M3s that have taken one for the team. The carnage helps explain why today’s blockbuster action movies cost so much to produce—probably for both the film company and BMW, if the M3s are part of a product placement deal. Movie cars get wrecked; it’s necessary. We get it. But that doesn’t make it any easier for BMW enthusiasts to see a truckload of bent M cars.

Perhaps the final product—the fifth installment of the Mission: Impossible film franchise scheduled for release in December 2015—showing us the fantasy of Tom Cruise using a single BMW M3 to save the world will help us forget the M3 mayhem of film production.—Scott Blazey
