MS Amlin Andretti driver António Félix da Costa finished in the points on the track in the Formula E race on the streets of Monaco, but a post-race penalty for an unsafe pit release moved him down from his ninth-place finish to a non-points-paying eleventh position. His teammate Robin Frijns, who had also been running in the points, fell back to twelfth on the final lap with an energy regeneration issue.
Both drivers had difficult qualifying sessions; Frijns qualified thirteenth and Félix da Costa qualified seventeenth. But both drivers moved up, with Frijns gaining five positions in the first turn.
Both drivers pitted when the i8 safety car came out on lap 22 of the 51-lap race. After the stops Frijns returned to the circuit in eighth while Félix da Costa came out tenth. With their early stops energy management was key to a good finish; Félix da Costa was able to hold on to finish ninth on the circuit while Frijns fell back with energy issues on the final lap.
