Joey Hand will not be back in 2015
BMW Motorsport has announced that seven of its 2014 DTM drivers will return to the series in 2015. They include 2014 champion Marco Wittmann, 2014 rookie of the year Maxime Martin, Martin Tomczyk, Bruno Spengler, Augusto Farfus, Timo Glock, and António Félix da Costa. BMW will continue to field eight M4 DTMs in the series; the eighth driver will be named later.
Joey Hand, the only American in DTM over the course of the last three seasons, will not race for BMW in 2015, either in DTM or in the US. BMW motorsport director Jens Marquardt says, “Joey Hand will go in search of new challenges in 2015. We would like to thank him for the great commitment he has shown to BMW in recent years, and wish him all the best for the future.”
Hand’s plans for 2015 have not yet been announced.—Brian S. Morgan
