What do you do when a hurricane is bearing down on your home and your beloved BMW E30 M3 is in its path? You protect it, of course. If you’re a true enthusiast, you make sure your M3 is just as well protected as you are.
Using that criteria, Randy Jalilsup is a true enthusiast. Motor Trend reports that as Hurricane Matthew approached Daytona, Florida, Randy decided the best parking spot for his M3 was next to him. Literally. In his house. In his living room, actually.
The double front doors of Randy’s house were just wide enough to allow the M3 into the vestibule-living room area. Double doors large enough for a car? We call that excellent planning.
Randy and his M3 weathered the storm just fine, as his Instagram pictures reveal.
Lest you think that Randy’s precautions were unnecessary, the nearby Daytona International Speedway suffered moderate damage and the entire grandstand collapsed at the New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, Florida
We salute Randy and his dedication to preserving an iconic BMW in the face of devastating forces of nature. Well done.—Scott Blazey
