West Surrey Racing’s Rob Collard in a 125i M Sport won race two in the British Touring Car Championship event at Thruxton. His teammate Colin Turkington won race three. Turkington’s flag-to-flag win was BMW’s 100th in BTCC competition.
While the BTCC was running at Thruxton the Blancpain Sprint Cup series was running at Brands Hatch. Marcus Palttala and Jesse Krohn in the #98 Rowe Racing M6 GT3 finished second in the qualifying race and went on to finish fifth in the main race. Their teammates Antonio Félix da Costa and Philipp Eng in M6 GT3 #99 finished fifth in the qualifying race. They were taken out of the second race in a pit lane collision. The win in both races went to Christian Engelhart and Mirko Bortolotti in the #63 Lamborghini Huracan GT3.—Brian S. Morgan
