Franck Perera, Dino Lunardi and Eric Dermont in the TDS Racing Z4 GT3 finished the 2015 European Le Mans Series season first in GTC class drivers’ points, and the TDS Team finished first in the GTC team championship. The wins came as a result of a second place finish in the 4 Hours of Estoril, the ELMS season finale run on the Portuguese circuit on October 18.
Andy Priaulx, Henry Hassid, and Jesse Krohn in a Z4 GTE won the GTE class in the last-ever race for the Marc VDS team . The team took a gamble that did not pay off when it qualified on slicks on a damp track. Hassid started from the back, but moved up, running as high as third before handing off to Priaulx. The team took another gamble, leaving Priaulx on slicks in a deluge. Priaulx ran a strong stint, moving up to second before handing off to BMW Junior Jesse Krohn. Krohn, still on slicks despite a wet start to his stint, took command when the track dried, finishing a lap ahead of the second place Aston Martin
Priaulx said, “It’s a fairytale story, isn’t it? We take a win, from the back of the grid, in the team’s last race… That’s just fantastic. The guys did a mega job today – the strategy was perfect. Those calls are always risky, and Sebastien and Ed (Turner, race engineer) got them absolutely right. The whole team deserve this win, because they’ve been superb all year. It’s such a professional environment. Again, Henry and Jesse were both mega today – Henry’s start was unbelievable! I’m just glad we took this win today. This one’s for the team, for Marc van der Straten and for the fans. Thank you!”—Brian S. Morgan
