This past week, while the sportscar racing world was focused on the 24 Hours of Le Mans, BMW Team RLL was at Road Atlanta further testing the BMW M6 GTLM. Though BMW Team RLL started off the season with some promise by showing good pace at Daytona and finishing second at Sebring, they have struggled in the recent sprint races.
With a fifth and tenth place finish on the historic streets of Long Beach, and a race weekend at Laguna Seca where they were clearly off-pace, BMW Team RLL will be pushing hard for the second half of the season. Currently BMW sits last in points in the Manufacturers' Championship with the #25 BMW M6 GTLM of Bill Auberlen and Dirk Werner sixth in the Team Championship and John Edwards and Lucas Luhr in tenth in the #100.
Our good friend Bill Auberlen was on hand for the testing and posted up some great videos! One thing to note is that the M6 GTLM appears to be running in its bare carbon instead of one of the #Next100 liveries. May we see a new livery when they show up at Watkins Glen for the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen?—Nate Risch
