Ludwig Willisch, recently retired CEO of BMW Group Region Americas, received the BMW CCA’s highest individual honor, the Friend of the BMW CCA award, at the 2017 BMW CCA Festorics Corral during the Rolex Monterey Motorsport Reunion at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California.
Willisch is an avid BMW enthusiast, taking time to support the BMW CCA and compete in racing events. Seen here accepting his award he had just completed his last race in the #25 BMW 3.0 CSL, which won the 1975 Twelve Hours of Sebring. Picutred are Willisch, BMW CCA Executive Director Frank Patek, and BMW CCA President Steve Johnson. Patek commented, that “in Ludwig Willisch the Club had the truest of friends”. “His presence and guiding hand will be missed by the company and the BMW enthusiast community”.
