BMW News

The appropriately named one-touch SmartTOP price has just been lowered (with one touch, one may suppose) in time for Christmas. Mods4cars has permanently dropped the price on their SmartTOP convertible top add-on kit for BMW 1 series and Mini convertibles. The new retail price is now only $299 plus shipping.

The SmartTOP modules enable one-touch remote control of the top from the factory key fob without the need to reprogram or replace any of the remotes. Additionally, the top can be opened or closed while driving at slow speeds of up to 28mph. A convenient one-touch feature does away with the need to hold down the switch for the duration of the operation. On Mini convertibles the opening cycle is drastically simplified by giving users the ability to choose, via different key press patterns, if the sunroof, top or windows should be opened at once.

Bonus features include separate control over the windows from the remote as well as an extended mode where turning the engine on or off will not interrupt an ongoing top cycle. All modules can be easily disabled and enabled, if needed. All features and functions are user programmable and individually selectable. Thanks to a standard USB port, firmware updates and module configuration can be done from any laptop or PC. Updates are available online, free of charge.

All kits ship with a USB cord and a custom designed plug-and-play wiring adapter. This guarantees a simple and straightforward install procedure that can be carried out by anyone, without special knowledge or tools. All connectors are genuine OEM parts to ensure a perfect and secure fit. No handling of individual wires, cutting or splicing is necessary.

SmartTOP convertible top kits are available for: Alfa, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Infiniti, Mazda, Mercedes, Mini, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Volkswagen and Volvo, but you probably don't care about the others.
