You may have heard of BMW's five-door hatchback 1-Series, but now a three-door version has been leaked, through patent images, according to inauto.com,.
As you can see, the three-door hatchback F21 is quite a successful two-door wagon design, with a well-executed tail. The model is rumored to be coming as a 125i, with a 2-liter turbo inline-four engine, developing 220 horsepower, and as a 125d, to complement the 116i, the 118i and the 120d, none of which we're likely to see in the U.S., I suspect.
The BMW 1-Series is expected to be offered in a total of six different body versions divided into two different build architectures. The new F21, or the 1-Series three-door hatchback as it is also known, will be revealed in Spring 2012. Now you've seen it first.––Paul Duchene
