New Jersey Motorsports Park, Homestead, and Montreal disappear from the schedule

Grand-Am announced the 2013 schedules for both the Rolex Series and the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series on the weekend of its Lime Rock Park 2012 season finale. The 2013 series will begin with the Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 26-27, and will once again finish at Lime Rock on the last weekend in September. The entire schedule is posted here.

Three new venues appear on the Rolex Series’ 12-race schedule, including the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas on March 2, Road Atlanta on April 20, and Kansas Speedway on August 17.

Three circuits are being dropped, including New Jersey Motorsports Park, Homestead-Miami Speedway, and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. The Rolex Series’ second race at Watkins Glen has also disappeared from the calendar, but the Six Hours of the Glen remains. It will once again be part of a three race North American Endurance Championship along with the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the Brickyard Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

In advance of the 2014 merger between Grand-Am and the American Le Mans Series, the two organizations will share an event in 2013; both series will run at Road America on August 10.

The Rolex and CTSCC series will both run on eleven weekends. The Rolex Series will run an additional race without CTSCC on Belle Isle in Detroit in June.—Brian S. Morgan
