BMW AG is recalling around 140,000 versions of its long-wheelbase 5 Series sedans made and sold in China. So if you're tempted to import one, make sure this repair has been completed

The company said Monday that possible corrosion on a part related to the car's power steering could interrupt power to the system in rare cases and unexpectedly make the car harder to steer. No accidents or injuries have been reported. Owners will get a letter asking them to return the vehicle to the dealership to for a repair.

The recall affects a stretched version of the vehicles made specifically for the Chinese market by BMW's joint venture with Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Ltd. between August 2009 and August 2012 and belonging to the 2010, 2011, and 2012 model years.––Paul Duchene
