Here is a limited edition of BMW’s most environmentally friendly M vehicle to date.
The 2015 BMW Cruise M-Bike Limited Edition is a tribute to the BMW M car. The instantly recognizable color was adapted from BMW M’s Austin Yellow Metallic. That color looks great on the M4; now it looks great on two wheels.
The head plate reads “BMW M Bike Limited Edition.”
Only 500 examples will be made and sold through selected BMW dealers.
Styling of the BMW Cruise M-Bike is similar to the other bicycles in the BMW Cruise line. The “Bullneck” on the top tube at the front of the frame evokes an understated motorcycle fuel tank—a design trick popularized with much less subtlety by Schwinn and other bicycle makers in the 1950s.
The frame is aluminum. Hydraulic disc brakes and gears are by Shimano.
The BMW Cruise M-Bike Limited Edition is not the first BMW Cruise M-Bike, just the latest in the series. BMW also made previous M-Bikes before the Cruise models. In fact, BMW has been developing bicycles for 60 years and today offers a selection of two-wheelers for adults and youths.—Scott Blazey
