The Vintage is an event worthy of a road trip. This is a time-proven fact over the 15 years that this unique event has run, and one confirmed by the hundreds of BMWs that consistently attend, that make The Vintage the largest gathering of vintage BMWs in North America. From factory-fresh early 1600s and E9s to LS-swapped E30s and turbocharged E24s, vintage BMWs of all kinds are welcome to attend. This year’s show also included the E31 8-series and E34 5-series, bringing in certain vintage vehicles from the early 1990s.
As the brainchild of BMW enthusiast Scott Sturdy, The Vintage is an event that has been free to evolve and change with the times. The result is a fantastic atmosphere that defines the spirit of the event—The Vintage is a gathering, not a car show, where enthusiasts from all walks of life gather to have fun and share the thrill of vintage Bimmers.
Check out the video above for a taste of the event, as told by festmeister Scott Sturdy and Roundel magazine columnist (“The Hack Mechanic”) and Bentley Publishing author Rob Siegel, who drove down to the event from Boston in a Bavaria sedan. And of course, to help plan your own journey to The Vintage in 2016. —David Rose
