Jason Briedis and James Clay in the #84 BimmerWorld 328i finished sixth in the Street Tuner class at Lime Rock while Tyler Cooke and Andrie Hartanto finished ninth in the team’s #81 328i. The Street Tuner win in the two-hour race run on July 25 went to Chad McCumbee and Stevan McAleer in a Mazda MX-5.

BMW’s hopes for a strong finish in the Grand Sport class ended on the first lap as Ashley Freiberg in the #46 Fall-Line M3 was punted off course and into a tire barrier. There were no other BMWs in the class. The overall and GT wins went to Billy Johnson and Scott Maxwell in a Ford Shelby GT350R-C.

Terry Borcheller and Mike LaMarra finished twelfth in ST in the #23 Burton Racing 128i. Burton ran a second 128i for Bill Auberlen and John Edwards at Lime Rock. Auberlen ran as high as third in class early in the race but a broken sway bar set the car back. The duo finished 22nd in class after a long stop for repairs.

Freiberg’s incident brought out a yellow that lasted for almost fifteen minutes. After that the race ran under green except for a brief caution period with about twenty minutes remaining to remove a disabled car.
