Every time I get behind the wheel of a race car, my job is to maximize the speed I can get out of it. I have to be flexible in my driving approach. Being able to drive a race car fast, lap after lap, is a constantly moving target, and as a driver, I have to be open-minded in order to extract the most out of the car. Every race, every lap, I make minor changes to my driving in order to get the best out of it. As my driving coach, Mike Zimicki, always taught me, you have to be able to drive the car you have, not the car you want, in order to be fast.
